so this is all synecdochic's fault.

jd nielson took over my brain sometime last week, and isn't giving it back until he's good and ready. he's a selfish little bastard, really. but there is fic!

first, there was the first epistle of jd nielson, in which he whines at mitchell about the local gay business networking group.

then, there was Neverwas, the first of (currently) two pieces exploring the nielson/mitchell relationship's kinkier side. it was perhaps an attempt at giving him a good hiding so he shut up. (boy, that didn't work.)

next, there was the second epistle, which jd is writing from london having had to take measures with daniel.

the third epistle is an oft-repeated complaint about the lack of decent doms in the colorado springs area. this is definitely going to be the first of many of these.

in the fourth epistle, nielson bitches out mitchell about the kitchen, and she smacks him right back in the comments. (make sure you scroll down.)

saint andrew and his crossis the second piece of fic and explores an interesting point that synecdochic and I discovered in jd and cammie's relationship (and discussed at her journal). it's also, people say, quite hot.

and most recently, there's the fifth epistle, in which we follow the joys of a government contractor and we meet bernice, who might just be one of my new favorite people. and really, don't we all need a bernice?

So oxoniensis is running the Fall Fandom Free-For-All, and I saw a prompt. And I tried to figure out how to make it work, and I couldn't. And then it morphed into something workable. And then I tried to figure out who the hell one of the characters was and what she was doing all season. And she told me, quite calmly and politely considering that part of the answer to what she was doing all season is 'going batshit crazy', exactly who she is. So, this chick?

I'm contemplating a Cammieverse remix of episode Kansas-My-Ass. However, since I don't know a whole bunch of important details including but not limited to how well this works with Cammieverse continuity and characterization and so forth and so on (not to mention Syn's personal canon #21), rather than actually, y'know, writing the damn thing, I'm just gonna dump the contemplation on yonder intertubes and let y'all sort things out.

In the course of writing a 'meet the family fic' (or trying to, at any rate, because a certain rotor pilot is refusing to cooperate due to his Issues), I've run into a couple of vague areas that need cleared up.

1) What branch is Ash in, anyways? He's been described as jumping out of perfectly good planes and was in a helicopter when he died in "Broken Wings", which implies something other than Air Force. I'm tempted to say Army, but that's more because my own little brother is in Airborne, and Ash could be a Marine. Anyone know one way or another? Thoughts on where he went to college, for that matter? Cindy Lou was at USF, but he may have already graduated.

2) I've seen a couple names for Skipper and Spencer's mother in the Who's Who spreadsheet, but as I reread fic with them I can't actually find a reference (there also seems to be some differering opinion over whether they have siblings...). I could have sworn there was a fic from their mom's point of view that possibly involved a hunger strike on their part, but I can't find it.
