I suggest we signal-boost the poll?

Other than the LJ comm mirror and personal journals, what do you suggest?
boosette[personal profile] boosette on October 11th, 2009 02:11 am (UTC)
Personal journals, for folks who don't follow the comm - to get the word out, I think?

Thanks for the boost--though I follow the comm, somehow I missed the notice til I saw it in your journal.

I have a horrible tendency to be struck mute as soon as I commit to writing something, but I would love to see this take flight. And it's possible I could lure my muse into behaving.

Maybe.

But it would be great!

Ha, my LJ userinfo includes, "If I just signed up for your ficathon, please do me the courtesy of understanding I've had a temporary fit of insanity, pat me on the head, and refuse to let me in."

I definitely think we should have an open-ended option for this thing.

I wouldn't mind helping organize, commenting, cheerleading, and betaing. I might even (maybe) write something. But don't count on the last.

Linking to this in my personal journals and twitter.

somewhat confused
What are you considering to be the "format"? Is that how the story exchange is organized, or is that how stories are to be written? (I'm hoping it's not requirements about how things are to be written, because that makes me itch.)

Re: somewhat confused
How the exchange is organized. We're kicking ideas around in the previous post, since this could either be writing to some manner of prompt or request, or doing whatever you want.

Re: somewhat confused
I'm fine with either one, pretty much.

Good a time as any to delurk, right?

Things I'm willing/want to do are liable to get hit with the 'oh look, only 24 hours!' reality stick though so, um, open-ended?

I'm thinking at this point that we might be best off with a prompt-a-thon (comment-ficathon?)? Simply from the sheer numbers of characters and canons available for request and the relatively small pool of writers/recipients?

Which comes with the added bonus of being open-ended.

I wold love to write something for it, but have absolutely no idea at this point in time what my schedule looks like - so it would have to be open-ended. But I will gladly beta/cheerlead/be enthusiastic as well.

I'd be happy to help, but I don't know enough to be a help instead of a hindrance.

On the other hand I can provide enthusiasm, comments, and virtual chocolate.
